D'AMBROSIO
D’Ambrosio is a project created at the beginning of 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal, by Juan Espegel Blanco and Fiorella D’Ambrosio Ugalde, two young couple eager to get ahead in the world, following their dreams.
The project is a sustainable fashion brand inspired by the flora and fauna of Costa.
The main objective is the creation of clothing with new designs, helping creative growth by telling a story through each product, while at the same time creating decent jobs in the industry, thus helping the environment by not contributing to unbridled fashion or its term ‘fast fashion’.
Also, for each purchase, 3% will be donated to charities, this way we will be contributing to the social good.

The company’s vision is focused on contributing little by little to a circular economy, since in this way over time it will be able to generate more dignified jobs in the company, as long as it continues to respect the parameters of slow-ecofriendly fashion.

About the materials
In Costa Rica the most exported products are pineapple, bananas and coffee. These products over the years have become part of the Costa Rican culture, as they represent very well the population, being sweet products and ‘pura vida’, is for this reason that in D’Ambrosio the materials chosen mainly come from natural fibers such as pineapple among some others.
In the recent years this country has taken very seriously the task of caring for the environment, being today a benchmark in the area. This has served as inspiration in our business, as we want to follow the example of that country in the fashion industry, while alluding to its striking colors in the flora and fauna so rich they have.

why use natural fibers
Sustainable textiles are those that have the least impact on the environment, have low water consumption in their processes, reduce their carbon footprint to a minimum, are made with natural fibers or recycled synthetic materials, and in their manufacturing, process is free of chemicals or agrochemicals that can later damage the water or the skin.
All our suppliers comply with these parameters, as is the case of Piñatex, a company that produces leather made from pineapple fiber.

Handmade products
Since the focus of the brand is sustainable fashion, all our products are 100% handmade in our small workshop.
Each piece is made with great delicacy, inspired by Costa Rican plants or animals, our customers can customize them, this option aims to make people feel special with each product ‘unique’ like them.
The purchase methodology is counter-demand, since at the time of purchase the product will begin its production process until it reaches the customer’s hands.
